I am on a mission to redefine the idea of self-care and shift to the concept of self-honoring. Self-honoring goes much deeper than self-care and includes both what we do and what we DON’T do.
I'm a former emotional stuffer. When my daughter showed up in my life nine years ago I knew I had to be better for me so I could be the best I can be for her.
I did not love breathwork the first few times I practiced in 2019. Nine months into choosing an alcohol-free lifestyle I returned to the breathwork practice of conscious connected breathing. My breathwork practice supports me in releasing emotions and returning home to peace, calm, love, and wholeness within myself.
I practice breathwork several times a week with a shorter practice and at least once a month with a longer journey. I LOVE the results I get from each time I practice!

About 5 years ago I would come home from a long day of teaching a full classroom of elementary students, stand in my hallway during bedtime routine with my daughter and let out a big “sigh”.
The words that came out of my mouth came from a place I didn’t recognize, “I want to go home.”
Well, I was home. I was literally standing in my hallway.
But I wasn’t home within myself. I was burnt out and exhausted. I spent my whole day giving, giving, giving to everyone else, and at the end of the day, I had nothing left for myself or my family.
I was so drained that all I wanted to do was crawl into bed to go to sleep only to wake up the next morning and do it all over again.
I was stuck in a constant cycle of exhaustion and turning to caffeine as THE answer. More coffee in the morning or a diet coke in the afternoon wasn’t the answer to what I was seeking.
As a result of my weekday mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion I’d spend most of my weekend in recovery mode from the week instead of doing activities I enjoy doing like getting outside and playing with my family.
Gratefully, my life is drastically different now.
✨As my family and I gather around the dinner table we laugh about the events of the day or a silly creation we’ve made up.
✨The bedtime routine is mostly smooth, feeling that deep sense of connection with my daughter, Ruby, as we wind down the day by reading our books side by side.
✨Our weekends are spent intentionally outside connecting as a family or with other families.
➡️ All because when I wake up in the morning or in the middle of the day I take a break for myself to return home to the peace, calm, and love within.

This ALL happened because I committed to a regular breathwork practice that supported taking care of myself in the exact right way I needed it.

Right after your first session! You’ll feel calmer and more regulated in your nervous system. You’ll likely feel lighter energetically and have clearer thoughts. The effects of each session can last for days or even a week.
The breathwork practice of conscious connected breathing isn’t for you if you are or think you may be pregnant or have a severe uncontrolled physical/mental health condition.
Yes! Ideally with the support of my digital breathwork course REAP you would practice breathwork at home on your own three times a week for 5-30 minutes each time.
All the focus is on you! You'll likely go deeper into the practice during a 1:1 session than in a group setting. This can be especially true if you get easily distracted by others in a group. There is customization with each session and accountability to continue your work in between sessions.
Sessions will take place on Thursday evenings either on Zoom or at my office at Blissful Heart Wellness Center in Bend, Oregon.
